The next issue of Plazm is in full production mode, thanks in part to a grant our new parent organization, New Oregon Arts & Letters, received from RACC.
The Plazm 30 theme is rebirth. If you have an idea for publication, would like to place an ad, or make a tax-deductible contribution, send email to editor30@plazm.com.
Our editorial team is Joshua Berger, art director; Jon Raymond, editor; and Tiffany Lee Brown, editor. We thank the Regional Arts and Culture Council, and the devoted grantwriting volunteers at New Oregon, for making possible this Opportunity Grant.
2. de zines exhibition, madrid
Plazm appears in this Spanish exhibition through August. "In a time of constant technological evolution... paper, as a media for the dissemination of culture and information, seems destined to disappear. However, the number of small, independent publications continues to grow. Digital and analogue can coexist, and, in fact, can serve vastly different purposes."
So says De Zines | La Casa Encendida | 29 June to 29 August 2010 / Room A | Ronda Valencia, 2 | 28012 Madrid - Spain
3. artist talk: sarah gottesdiener - today, portland
Former Plazm editorial coordinator and contributor Sarah G's new work at Nationale is beautiful and moving. If you can't make it to the talk, drop by Nationale through August 1 to take a look. Helpful hint: perusing the small books helps cohere the story behind the fabric and printed work on the walls.
Artist talk and presentation Thursday July 15th, 7pm.
NATIONALE | 811 East Burnside | Portland, Oregon | 503.477.9786
