2GQ co-presents "HOUSE BOUND" at PERFORMANCE WORKS NW

The Works Corps invites the 2 Gyrlz community to experience the group's very intimate and unusual new performance, "House Bound," at Performance Works NW on April 13, 2008. The work delves into the tension between individuality and relationship, between selfhood and family, between freedom and claustrophobia, between private and public.

2GQ is delighted to co-sponsor this rare opportunity for audiences to visit a very different kind of house. We'd like to give a big shout-out to the show's current donors, including the Cooley Gallery at Reed College, Plazm magazine, P!x Patisserie, Vanessa Renwick/Oregon Dept of Kick Ass, and Steve Fritz Photography.

Last spring, 2GQ/2 Gyrlz produced a six-week performance series at the Someday Lounge. Called "Public Works," the series revolved around the collaborative and individual explorations of the "Works Corps": Clare Carpenter, Emily Stone, Nora Robertson, Lilian Gael, and Tiffany Lee Brown. Under the leadership of producer Lilian Gael, the Works Corps reunited to begin creating "House Bound," and won a grant from Performance Works NW for the use of the organization's facilities, as part of the new series, Alembic.

We still need to rustle up more support for the show, so let us know if you'd like to provide help, in-kind donation, media sponsorship, or a cash donation. Any amount helps, and you may be able to write off your donation on your taxes. Donate online now via Network for Good and contact us at the current year at 2GQ.org (for example, in 2003 you'd send email to 2003@2GQ.org). 2GQ is part of the 501c(3) non-profit organization 2 Gyrlz Performative Arts.

WHO TO BLAME

New Oregon Arts & Letters is a 6' 1" tall former model, 38-22-36, bodybuilder, blonde, looking for a generous gentleman who likes chardonnay spritzers, walks on the beach, and soft jazz.

Whoops! Wrong ad. Seriously, we're an arts-media-lit organization formerly known as 2GQ. 2GQ was originally founded as a project of 2 Gyrlz Performative Arts in Portland. Confused yet? Good.

Anyway, New Oregon is a 501c(3) non-profit organization. We were founded in 2001, and our EIN number is #93-1313866. We have a Mission Statement, if you're into that kind of thing. Like, you know, words and stuff.

We have never been arrested for a capital crime. Our life goal is world peace, and when we grow up we want to be a veterinarian, because we love children.*
