R.I.Y. + Poetry Month at MultCo Library

RIY: read it yourself. Bring a bit of poetry April 21, and check out the other events hosted free by your very own Multnomah County library system.

Here's the full scoop from the library's own mouth (who knew libraries had mouths?):

Read It Yourself (RIY) Poetry - Poetry for the People by the People Join poets Turiya Autry and Carols Reyes as they host RIY Poetry - bring a poem or poem fragment (no more than 3 minutes) that has meant something to you to share with the audience. Sign up to read at the door. Saturday April 21st at 1 p.m.

There are many poetry events coming up in April in celebration of National Poetry Month, including a visit by Oregon's poet laureate Lawson Inada. A complete list can be found at http://www.multcolib.org/events/poetry.html.

Writers Talking: In May there will be several featured writers, including Rene Denfeld, author of All God's Children: Inside the Dark and Violent World of America's Street Families and Shawn Levy, Oregonian columnist and entertainment writer. More information at www.multcolib.org/events/writers.html.
