Wonderfully Weird Week...
A masked Italian noise rock duo, a butoh-Voudun dancer... A Japanese experimental percussionist and a macabre puppet show...A dark Victorian circus and a genuine freakshow... Something about a film crew from National Geographic?... And three nights of inspired horror at a haunted house hosted by Elvis.

Halloween is the province of those who have not given up on make-believe.
Children, performers, freaks, and nonconformists of all traditions
look forward to this season all year long; while our counterparts
on the other side of the ethical tracks leave their porchlights
off. But do not despair, my fellow spooky kids – it is the essence
of Tricking that no permission is asked.
Not everything we have to offer this week is specifically-Halloween
-themed, but we consider it fitting fare nonetheless to close the
month in grand fashion:
A masked Italian noise rock duo, a butoh-Voudun dancer, a Japanese
experimental percussionist, and a macabre puppet show
A dark Victorian circus
And three nights of inspired horror at a haunted house hosted by Elvis
FRIDAY 10/27
OVO, TATSUYA NAKATANI with VANESSA SKANTZE, and A DICTIONARY OF
BLOOD THEATER
Speaking of bizarre and volatile combinations: This night boasts
the sort of line-up that can only come about by accident. A masked
Italian noise-rock performance duet touring behind their new LOAD
Records release, a touring classical percussionist from Japan teamed
with a butoh-Voodoo practitioner from New Orleans, and a renegade
puppeteer showing the first in his series of shows based on
recordings from a hospital for the criminally insane. Sheer
inspired madness is guaranteed.

SATURDAY 10/28:
BATTY'S HIPPODROME
Victorian Circus
Presents
Thee 999 Eyes Ov Endless Dream , CoRE,
A Dictionary of Blood Theater, and still more
Our house circus troupe, portraying the true-life Victorian circus
of ringmaster William Batty, acts as a framing device for traveling
circus troupes from all around the country. This month, we receive
a visit from one of the last genuine traveling freakshows in the
United States – Thee 999 Eyes Ov Endless Dream – who are being
tailed from city to city by a film crew from The National Geographic
Channel.
Arrive early for the second in Rale Sidebottom's series of macabre
puppet shows, A Dictionary of Blood Theater.
And stay late as the narrative turns grislier and we splatter the
stage with the skin-crawling theatrical mutilations of CoRE.
Truly a show for the ages, from the creator and castmembers of
Societas Insomnia and Cicuri Curajul –The Fireninja, Leapin' Louie
Lichtenstein, The Clown House, Aubrey Birdwell, Noah Mickens, and
STILL MORE luminaries of the circus stage to be announced.
Witness the birth of a tradition.

SUNDAY 10/29 – TUESDAY 10/31:
ELVIS DEMONVILLE
John "Elvis" Schroeder is a Portland institution. Singer, street
performer, storyteller, professional wrestler, talk show host,
minister, and King of Rock and Roll; he has survived from the
halcyon days of pre-code Cascadia through the magnifying-lens
spotlight that's singed away so many of his contemporaries.
For Halloween '06, Elvis is taking his act to the next level of
unbearable terror: Someday Lounge is making our space and creative
team available to The King to create a full-fledged interactive
Haunted House based entirely on the fruits of his imagination. With
Elvis Himself as the host and star attraction; and guest performers
including A Dictionary of Blood Theater, Thee 999 Eyes Ov Endless
Dream Traveling Freakshow and Carnival of the Damned, and a murder
of spooky musical acts; Demonville is the hottest ticket this
Halloween season, bar none.
As if this weren't enough All Soul's revelry, our neighbors on the
infernal 5th and Couch Block will create haunted houses of their
own, each with its own unique take on the traditions of the Pumpkin
King. So come down every night, and you'll still never be able to
see it all.
We claim Halloween. Join us.
Open 6pm – midnight, Sunday-Tuesday
Tours every fifteen minutes, shows every hour.
$8 per night or $12 for all three nights
