A Fitting Experience: check it out, and/or participate.
What do women believe about their bodies? Margaret DeLima invites women to participate in "A Fitting Experience," a project related to body image. It's an arresting piece, as you can see on her blog:
http://afittingexperience.blogspot.com/.
The invitation follows. Incidentally, Margaret invites all women (e.g. not just wbw's) to participate.
What are your beliefs about your body?
I would like to invite you to participate in a community project that explores how women view their bodies. The next time you buy clothes, save one paper tag that states the size of the garment you are purchasing.
While looking at the tag, please reflect on one of the following questions:
- How do you feel about your body?
- What did you think to yourself about your body when you tried this garment on?
- Describe your body size and shape.
Please record your response to the question on the tag, in any form that you choose; feel free to write, draw or alter the tag in any way.
Please send your tag with your response to:

Responses will be published anonymously at
http://afittingexperience.blogspot.com/
In sharing these responses, I am hoping that we can begin
to rethink the way we are marked by this culture’s
systems for measuring women’s bodies.
Feel free to contact me with any questions about the project at:
mardelima333 at the domain yahoo.com.
You are welcome to share this invitation with other women
who would like to participate.
Thank you for contributing to this project.
