Greyhound Quean
2GQ is pleased to publish "Greyhound Quean," by poet and editor Louie Crew.
Greyhound Quean
For three score years and five
Ed (wina) swallowed
in the back stall
every tough in town,
one by one, in an endless line,
always looking for Lily Law
in the corner of her eyes.
Squiiiiiiiinch! each new dime
would zipper all in line to safety.
Ed (wina) paid one dime a day
to preserve this place.
When Ed (wina) died,
four tatooed men at the morgue
remembered well her services
and, rubber gloved, bore her
quietly, honorably, to a fairy heaven.
Here lies the invester of 233,741 U. S. dimes.
